Online Application
The first step in the Punjab Dhee Rani Programme is the online application. Brides or their families can self-apply via an easy-to-use web or mobile platform. Applicants can access the registration form through the Dhee Rani Portal.
Additionally, applicants can seek assistance by:
- Calling the CMP Helpline at 1312.
- Visiting the Help Desk at their local District Directorate (DD) Office.
Tehsil Verification Committee (TVC)
After the online application is submitted, the Tehsil Verification Committee (TVC) steps in. The applications are thoroughly reviewed to confirm the eligibility of the applicants. The District Directorate assigns the applications to the TVC, which is responsible for verifying the information provided by the applicants and ensuring that they meet the required eligibility criteria. This step ensures transparency and fairness in the selection process.
Program Steering Committee (PSC) Approval
Once the TVC verifies the applications, they are sent to the Program Steering Committee (PSC) for final approval. The PSC ensures that all applications align with the programme’s goals. The committee carefully reviews the eligible candidates, ensuring that all requirements have been fulfilled. Once the PSC gives its approval, the applications move forward to the next phase.
List Finalization
After the approval from the PSC, a final list of eligible brides is created. These brides will receive notifications via SMS, keeping them informed about their application’s status. This phase marks the end of the application process and prepares the program for the distribution of financial assistance and the grand wedding ceremony.
Financial Assistance Through ATM
Following the finalization of the list, the brides receive financial assistance through a systematic and transparent method. The steps involved are:
- Account Opening: Each bride has a new bank account opened.
- Amount Top-Up: An amount of 100,000 rupees is deposited into the bride’s account.
- Biometric Verification: A Biometric Verification System (BVS) ensures that the funds reach the correct recipients.
- ATM Access: The brides can withdraw the funds using their assigned ATM cards.
This process guarantees financial support for the wedding while maintaining transparency and security.
Collective Wedding Ceremony
The core event of the Punjab Dhee Rani Programme is the Collective Wedding Ceremony. This is a grand event where approximately 3,000 brides across Punjab participate in their marriage ceremonies, which are conducted simultaneously. Each bride receives a dowry package containing essential household items to help them start their married lives with dignity. The ceremony is carefully planned and conducted with respect and grace.
NADRA Certification
Following the wedding ceremony, the program ensures that all marriages are officially registered through NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority). This certification guarantees the legal documentation of the marriage, securing the future of the brides. Throughout this process, brides and their families are kept updated via SMS notifications.
